What is RESET Air?

Definition

RESET Air is a data-driven building standard for indoor air quality, run by GIGA. Instead of a one-time test, it certifies spaces on continuous readings from accredited monitors, delivered through accredited data providers, for parameters such as PM2.5, total VOCs, CO2, temperature and humidity.

What it is

RESET Air shifts air quality certification from design intent to measured performance. Projects install monitors that meet RESET grade requirements, place them according to the standard, and stream data to the RESET cloud through an accredited data provider.

Certification is based on performance over time against targets, and it must be maintained with ongoing data. Separate standards cover core and shell buildings and commercial interiors. RESET is aligned with WELL, so data can support both.

Who it applies to / where it is used

RESET Air is used by office owners and tenants, workplace teams, schools, hospitality and retail spaces that want a live, published measure of indoor air quality.

How it is measured / what evidence it needs

The standard depends on monitor quality, placement and an unbroken data stream.

  • Accredited monitors at the required grade
  • Monitor placement and density following the standard
  • Continuous data for each required parameter
  • Data delivered through an accredited data provider
  • Calibration and maintenance records

How Aqueduct helps

Aqueduct supplies continuous, zone-level air data and works alongside accredited monitors. Accreditation as a RESET data provider is on the roadmap, so check current status before relying on Aqueduct for that role.

  • Continuous PM2.5, VOC, CO2, temperature and humidity through aQ AirSafe
  • Device-agnostic connection to accredited monitors over LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi or Ethernet
  • Ventilation response where control is enabled, with owner approval
  • Records exported through aQ Assurance
Questions

RESET Air: common questions

RESET Air is a sensor-based standard that certifies indoor air quality from continuous readings, using accredited monitors and data providers.

It measures parameters such as PM2.5, total VOCs, CO2, temperature and humidity. Check the current standard for the full list and targets.

RESET Air is built entirely on continuous sensor data. WELL is broader, covering many health concepts, and includes performance testing. The two are aligned.

Aqueduct supplies continuous air data and can connect to accredited monitors. RESET requires an accredited data provider, and Aqueduct's accreditation is on the roadmap.
